As Mum's of 2 kids each we know the importance of finding a good playground to take them to and burn off all that energy.

If you have a runner (like Luka!) you know how useful it is to find one that is fenced in!
 

We have done the legwork for you and found 5 of the best fenced in playgrounds from Burpengary to Everton Hills.

1. Creec All Abilities Playground

Location: 150 Rowley Road, Burpengary 4505
 
There are two seperate fenced playgrounds - the smaller one suitable for younger children and includes a slide, old-fashioned bridge, windmill with fireman's pole and a fun digger. 
 
The larger park has something for everyone - large climbing frames and slides for the more adventurous, down to more simple little houses and musical instruments for younger kids.
 
The flying fox equipment is very unique - there is a traditional disc seat as well as a high-backed seat with harness that kids can comfortably zip along in. 
 
Your kids will love exploring all the different features on offer - there's even fun additional activities like hopscotch and Australian animals to spot!

2. Spinnaker Park Newport

Location: 39 Lakeview Promenade, Newport.
 
This playground has to be a favourite for kids who love to climb, balance, leap and jump!
There is a huge sail shaped climbing tower which provides multiple slides to explore and enjoy. Underneath there are several smaller forts that younger kids can play on - including a fun pirate ship!
Another plus is that the park is all sand & soft fall (no red bark!). 
 
You will also find two regular swings, two toddler swings, a basket swing and a log-style rope swing

3. Scarborough Beach Park

Location: 52 Landsborough Avenue, Scarborough 4020
 

A park with the prettiest view of Moreton Bay - your little ones can enjoy playing while you take in the calm ocean vibes.

 

Our kids absolutely love playing hide and seek in the amazing low branches of the Cottonwood trees - so much opportunity for imaginative play. 

 

There is also a fun pirate ship and train to explore, a climbing net, swings and balancing equipment. 

 

Make sure you check out the Norfolk Pine trees running along the beach - there is a secret fairy door hidden inside one of them!

 

100m along the beachfront there is also a fenced jumping pillow - Brooklyn was so excited to find this! 

 

Enjoy some fish and chips along the waterfront, play in the sand, have a swim in summer, explore the playground and cottonwood trees, jump on the jumping pillow - a memorable family day out can be had here!

4. Mermaids Youth Park - Margate

Location: Between Margate Parade and Marine Parade, Margate

 

This fully fenced playground is located right next to Sutton's Beach Park - a great area for families to enjoy with many picnic facilities, BBQ's and shaded areas.

 

Our favourite afternoon activity is to head down to Margate, enjoy the playground and then stroll leisurely along the beautiful Margate shore. The kids love making sandcastles, collecting seashells and wandering back along the boardwalk. 

 

There is plenty of parking nearby, often with ice creams trucks or coffee trucks to enjoy on the weekend.

5. The Hills District All Abilities Playground

Location: Dawson Parade, Arana Hills

 

We have truly saved the best for last!

 

This playground offers something for everyone - from the smallest ones starting to walk to older kids who love to climb and explore.

 

Younger kids can enjoy the toddler-size cafe/farmers market cubby, digging in the sandpit and the musical instruments. There is also a soft fall hill with multiple slides that are great from ages 2+.

 

Kids that love to climb will enjoy the large fort complete with slides, firemans pole, bridge and climbing walls. 

 

There is also a whimsical bee themed garden area that kids can pretend to be gardeners in.
